Montgomery College: Semester-Long Regular Courses

Students aged 60 years and older may be eligible for a tuition waiver! Seniors who wish to take advantage of the tuition waiver must register during the Senior Registration period (the final three days of registration).

Waiver requirements:

  • You will still be responsible for paying required fees.
  • You need to check the Important Dates and Deadlines page for the date the waiver goes into effect.  You will be responsible for full tuition and fees if you register prior to the listed date.
  • Waivers are given on a space-available basis.

The photography department offers equipment loans, great printers, Macs, the latest software, and flash studios as part of the courses. Beginner and intermediate courses include:

  • INTRO TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY – PHOT 161 and Lab PHOT 161L
  • PHOTOGRAPHY II – PHOT 201 and lab PHOT 201L
  • PHOTOSHOP FOR GRAPHICS & PHOTO – PHOT 214 and lab PHOT 214L

From Crapo to Crocheron: Moonrise at Farm Creek – August 17, 2024 6:00PM – 10:00PM
Photograph moonrise and sunset at “the end of the world” in southern Dorchester County. Instruction will focus on tips on using a tripod, white balance, using a histogram, long exposures, focusing in the dark and light painting, using a remote and getting a good exposure.

Night Photography on Assateague Island – September 28, 2024 6:00PM – 10:00PM
Learn to photograph sunset on the Bay side of the island and work to the ocean as the light fades. When it’s dark enough, learn how to photograph the Milky Way at some great locations.
