Geffard Bourke – Judge – Decay Competition

Thursday, April 8

Photography has been Geff’s passion for more than four decades. Like most people, he started taking pictures on family vacations with his first camera, which was a Fuji XT605.

Geff definitely caught the photography bug and his interests branched out to nature and travel photography.  His expanded passion grew to capturing images of landscapes, birds, and flowers; travel photography with the goal of capturing the culture of his destinations; and urban landscapes of street, people, and decay.

Since he started with film, Geff was compelled to learn every aspect of development and at one point built his own darkroom so that he could process his images. Then, he converted to the digital photography which allowed him limitless freedom of expression. Each image can be manipulated in multiple ways to express a desired mood or state of mind.  Geff often shoots film, processes the image, and then transfers it to a digital image.

In college, Geff studied and obtained a degree in graphic arts. These studies aided him in developing perspective and have definitely affected how he composes his images. Geff’s galleries are a true expression of how he sees our world.Geff has teamed up with Road Runner Photography Tours.  roadrunnerphotographytours.com/
