Duane Heaton was born and raised in Mattawan, Michigan and feels fortunate to have attended a high school that had a photography program. After graduation he continued his training in the U.S. Navy as a Photographer’s Mate. He traveled through the Mediterranean, Middle East, and Northern Europe responsible for public affairs and intelligence photography. He also ran the TV station on the USS Nassau.
After his military service Duane settled in Washington, DC and became a staff photographer for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, where he did everything from aerial photography to video production.
When he started on his career as a professional photographer, he swore to make images for his clients that capture the love, romance and excitement in their lives and to deliver photographs that have real heart and soul.
Duane loves photography. He feels that this profession allows him to not only create art, but to create relationships with people who value that art or who are interested in becoming photographic artists themselves.
He couldn’t ask for a better job.
