Twilite Polo – so here’s what happened…

Bruce Schaefer

A recent Saturday afternoon promised good weather, so we looked around for company to go to polo with in VA. We found fellow members Marc and Lisa Auerbach at loose ends so we all packed a picnic and drove an hour to capture ponies and people at the Great Meadow in VA.

Twilite Polo at the Great Meadow is more than just horsey action; the audience is as much the attraction. On a good evening, it brings together the horse owners – and the people who take care of those horses. The posh people and the pissants. The parking lot mingles Jaguars with pickup trucks.

On this nite, however, I spotted a bat flying around the arena lights and sought to take his picture. Upon reviewing it next morning, I found I’d captured – a FLYING SAUCER!

And if you look closely, you can see heads in 3 of the windows. The Little Green Men like polo also. I am sending this picture to the Navy for their collection.

Here are some earthly pictures that came out of that evening. Behold:

Twilite Polo season continues every Saturday nite until September 14. Google it for directions

Scurrilous! Lies! We are not green, we are what you would call scarlet with yellow spots. The greens are barbarians!
