I am the General Manager for the largest residential roofing contractor in D.C., and General Manager for Certified Contractors Network, where we teach contractors from all over the United States to be businesspersons.
When did you first begin to photograph?
I borrowed my mom’s Brownie camera in the second grade to take on a field trip. I was allowed one packet of flash bulbs for holidays. My Dad gave me a Pentax when I graduated from high school. I used that camera until it gave out, and now I have a Nikon D80 and had to learn photography all over again.
How did you find the Silver Spring Camera Club?
From the internet, of course.
When did you join the Silver Spring Camera Club?
Last year.
What Club activities have you participated in?
I volunteered to be the Secretary to help break the ice with shyness. I have attended a few field trips. It pushes me outside my comfort zone, and I have photographed a greater variety of things in the last year than I have in many years combined.
What Club activities do you most enjoy?
I enjoy speakers to see what other people are doing, the informal education meetings for support and the field trips to practice and really meet the other members.
Outdoors with my zoom – doing abstracts and flowers in my garden. I like to explore on foot and through my lens.
What do you like to shoot?
Things close up, textures. I like to show other people what is out there.
What equipment do you use?
Nikon D80 and my 70-300 mm zoom with my Manfrotto tripod. I have a macro and a wide angle, but I hardly use them.
