Each month, the Club organizes at least one field trip for members to shoot together. This is a great opportunity to learn from other members and shake yourself out of a photographic rut. This is a no pressure opportunity to experiment with your photography and enjoy the company of fellow club members. Make sure to find out where the group is headed though the Cable Release or Meetup, or the trip leader.
For the 2020-2021 season, the Club is continuing its tradition while trying to adjust for life under COVID. The Club has scheduled four outdoor field trips for the Fall of 2020: the Robinson Nature Center, Dawn on the Potomac, and Cunningham Falls State Park. For the remainder of the season (January-May) the Club has several tentative locations, both inside and outside.
To consider the ongoing impact of COVID, no decision on additional trips will be made before November.
Phil Boyer is the Field Trip Coordinator, but other club members can organize and lead the trips as well. We are always looking for volunteers to lead trips, and ideas for fun places to photograph.
COVID and Field Trips: To ensure the safety of members, the following COVID Rules are in effect for all field trips until further notice:
NEW COVID RULES
- Club will not arrange Carpools
- RSVP Required to Leader—a Maximum of 15 people
- MASK WEARING AT ALL TIMES IS STRICTLY MANDATORY
- Appropriate Social Distancing is required
- Hand Sanitizer will be provided; use is strongly encouraged.
- Participants Must Complete COVID Self-Assessment Checklist prior to trip; any COVID symptom precludes attendance
- Field Trip Leader has sole discretion over safety precautions
- PRACTICE SAFE BEHAVIOR
- Participants must sign COVID Waiver of Liability (i.e, if you get COVID, you won’t hold club liable)

Note: Due to the Pandemic, carpooling is CANCELLED until further notice. Participants will meet at the field trip location.
People wishing to carpool after we resume carpooling meet (unless otherwise specified)
meet at the Forest Glen Metro Parking Lot:
2100 Walsh View Terrace, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
Note that the entrance to the lot is from Kimball Pl in the back, and not from Walsh View Terrace or Forest Glen Rd.
Meet on the north side of the lot, near the trees and the lot entrance.
