Recently, I attended a curated photography exhibit at the Library of Congress. Among the Ansel Adams and Salvador Dali photographs available for our viewing was this Tom Ang book about other well known artists that have contributed to photography:

In February at the WPPI show (Wedding and Portrait Photography Conference + Expo), a class was taught by Jerry Ghionis, originally from Australia, who now lives in California. He recently felt burnt out and took a 3-month hiatis from his photography business and pursued photography as an enthusiast, which allowed him to re-energize his creativity. He showed us how he would find less desirable locations and compose people and images that looked like they were planned studio sessions. Check out his website and google him to see more of how he gets the PHABULOUS PHotographs in camera at less desirable locations with very little post processing:

On another note, this popped-up on the World Wide Web (LOL) and it may be of interest to members! The session in DC on June 4 is only $40.
Two movie recommendations for a rainy day are:
- Nicole Kidman in Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (if you know her photography work … there is nudity in this film)
- The Governess with Minnie Driver … Yes, Minnie Driver! (A movie recommended for its visual style and cinematography – nudity in this movie also).
I’ve watched these movies and enjoyed them both!
