- How did you get started in photography?
Working as a Program Manager for international conferences and scientific symposia, I enjoyed the concept of creating and capturing an experience or a moment. As my career has developed I have found that this theme has bled into my love for planning logistics and capturing the emotions in experiences. Photography was a logical next step as it encourages me to expand on this but also is a new avenue of personal growth and development. I love learning about how I can manipulate and study light to express my moments in entirely new and creative ways.
- What photographic subjects do you prefer to photograph?
I love telling a story with my photos and the interactions between people and their environment. As such I generally enjoy portraits, street photography, and travel photography.
- What type of camera are you currently using?
I currently use a Nikon D7500 but I am interesting in learning other brands and exploring mirrorless systems.
- Do you do much post-processing of your photos? With what software?
I am still learning and teaching myself post-processing. Currently I use a mixture of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop at home or I use Snapseed on my phone when I’m processing on the go!
- What are you interested in learning more about?
I would love to learn more about the technical aspects of photography. Understanding light meters and quality of light, especially within a studio space.
- What other interests, pursuits or hobbies would you like to share with the SSCC membership?
I love nerd culture especially attending Comic Cons. The mixture of objects, costumes, and fandom make for a great atmosphere especially for photographers.
