Baltimore Camera Club

March 8, 2018: Bob Hansen (BCC Member) – “Panoramas”.  In his presentation, Bob will discuss: Why do I do panoramas….? What is a panorama…? How do I make one – do I need to learn a new skill? Do I have to buy and learn to use special equipment? Do I have to learn and buy new software? This program will answer the questions and help you make panoramas if you are not already doing so.

There will be Print and Digital Competitions on the 1st and 15th, respectively – No Themes.

 Carroll County Camera

The guest speaker on March 19 will be Howard Clark. His presentation is “Nature, the Art of God.” On April 16, Chang from Ain’t That a Frame is presenting information about preparing work for display.

 Creative Exposure Baltimore

For the March 6 meeting the guest speaker is John Patterson. John is a Baltimore-based documentary photographer who captures the world around him with a blend of photojournalism and fine art. His “Uncensored City” Facebook page was recently voted “Best City Blog” by readers of The Baltimore Sun. John’s work has been exhibited in shows in Baltimore, Germany and Brazil, and has been published in The Sun and The Guardian. He considers himself a student of photography, who learns and draws inspiration from past masters and those currently working in the field.

Sat, March 31, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.: Hone your photography skills with volunteers from Creative Exposure Baltimore. Discuss the basics of composition as a group, then practice your technique around the museum campus. No advance registration required. All levels welcome.

  • Bring your own camera and equipment (e.g., a tripod).
  • COST is Included with Admission.

 Creative Photography Society (CPS)

Meetings – The Creative Photography Society (CPS) will host its sixth meeting in the Black & White Photography Series on Tuesday, March 13. The topic will be “Workflow Processing and Printing,” and the speaker is Les Picker. 

Trips – The “NYC Architecture Photo Walk” with Lew Rothman, which will take place on June 2, SOLD OUT quickly. To be notified when future outings will take place, sign up on CPS’s Meetup.com page.

Gaithersburg Camera Club

The March speaker meeting will be on 3/12 at 7 p.m. in Parker Hall in Asbury Methodist Village, with Jill Bochicchio as speaker and the topic will be Portraiture.

The April speaker meeting will be on 4/9, same time and place as the March meeting. The speaker will be Ed Palaszynski, one of our club’s members. He will give a presentation on “workflow,” using digital photo processing software other than Photoshop or Lightroom.

 Harford County Photography Group (HCPG)

The Harford County Photography Group’s (HCPG) March 14 meeting will be on “Baltimore Photojournalism” with Amy Davis, who has been with the Baltimore Sun for thirty years. 

The April 11 meeting will be on “LR/PS Tips and Image Critique” with David Blecman. For this year’s “Adventure Series,”  HCPG will travel to: the Finger Lakes region of New York, and then shooting the bridges of Lancaster County, Great Falls/DC, and New York City in the Fall. Sign up on HCPG’s Meetup.com page to be notified of meetings and trips.

Silver Spring Camera Club

March 1: Lester Picker will make a presentation on black and white photography

March 17:  There will be a field trip to Fells Point and Federal Hill, in Baltimore.
