Approximately a 1 hour drive from the Hillandale Shopping Center carpool location.
Directions:
I-270 to Frederick, then Route 15 until you pass Mount Saints Mary’s College. Take the next left exit off the highway. This road is called South Seton. Follow South Seton the whole way into town until you past the town’s post office. Once you do, you will take the 2nd right which happens to be ½ city block back from the signal light. That is called East Lincoln. Travel down East Lincoln for 1 block and the Emmitsburg Antique Mall will be on your right.
Cost: $5.00 donation, plus cost of any antiques you buy.

Carpool location/time:
Meet at the northeast corner of the parking lot of Hillandale Shopping Center at 9:00 a.m.:
From New Hampshire Blvd (650), take Powder Mill Rd. to the first entrance on the right and into the lot, then an immediate left and park at the top of the lot, (catty-corner from Unique Thrift Store and opposite from Domino’s):
1731 Powder Mill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20903.

Emmitsburg Antique Mall is the 34,000 square foot home of over 120 booths filled with all kinds of antiques from furniture, figurines, pottery, toys, tools, books and much more.
This antique mall Is one of the largest in the area and generally has nice even lighting throughout the building. There will be no shortage of things to take pictures of!
As a bonus, members seeking spiritual blessing of their photography can visit the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, an 1858 replica of the Lourdes Grotto Shrine in France. [the real blessing may be the surrounding landscape, which is beautiful]

Superb Food and cheap by DC Standards! Lunch entrees $10-12. (Photographers are like soldiers—they travel on their stomach). 2 blocks from Antique Mall.
