  • 12/6/18 Field Shoot: Washington Monument Lighting event in Mount Vernon.
  • 12/13/18 Theme: Images inspired by writings of Edgar Allan Poe that were penned at the Poe House In Baltimore.
  • 12/27/18 Member Critique #2 – Two images per member. Place in Visual Pursuits “Member Programs – Critiques” Gallery/ “Member Critique December 27, 2018”

January

  • 1/10/18 Erin Douglas, photographer, winner of the Emerging Artist of the Year award at Artscape 2015, featured in The Baltimore Sun for her coverage of diversity at the Burning Man Festival.
  • 1/24/18 Norm Barker, MS, MA, RBP, FRPS, Professor of Pathology and Art as Applied to Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine – “Patent Medicine: Selling the Cure.” He will present trade card images from the turn of the 20th century and explore several major themes involved in the advertising of patent medicines. Many of the images were beautiful examples of the printing technology “Chromolithography,” and were produced locally at the A. Hoen Lithography Company in Baltimore

  • On December 1, BCCC is having a field trip to Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge.
  • 12/3, Will be the monthly competition – Theme: Insides of Anything Judge: Lewis Katz.
  • 12/10, Photo-Talk meeting – “Technology and Aesthetics.”
  • 12/29, There is a Field Trip to the National Cathedral.

January

  • On January 7, the monthly meeting is a competition – Theme: Repetitions Judge: Jerry Taylor.
  • 1/12, BCC is having a field trip to College Park Airport Museum.
  • 1/14, Photo-Talk meeting is “Why Do We Photograph?”
  • 1/21, The program meeting has a speaker – Michelle Guillermin on Nature photography.
  • 1/28 The How-To meeting is on Smart Phone Photography by Janet Matthews.

  • 12/4, 7:30, at the BMI: For this meeting, our speaker will be Dave Friskey.
    “Dave is a relative newcomer to the Baltimore photography scene, having only started in 2016. His landscape work has been featured in Baltimore In A Box, City Cafe, and on WMAR’s Midday Maryland. He regularly shoots for the Sagamore Pendry Hotel in Fells Point and is currently taking time away from a career in I.T. to pursue other areas of photography.”
  • The assignment for December is “Decorations.” The deadline for submission is December 2, 2018 11:59 p.m.

  • January 3, the speaker is Padma Inguva, who will discuss, “How to photograph flowers.”
  • January 13, the field trip is to Union Station DC.
