March 5 Speaker – Andrew Sentipal – Photographing Shenandoah National Park

Please join us for a fun and informative evening as we are transported to Shenandoah National Park by nature photographer, Andrew Sentipal.  Andrew has been passionate about photography since the film days and has been a serious nature photographer for the past 15 years. His love of the outdoors and nature has taken him across North America to such iconic locations as the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Zion, the Great Smoky Mountains, and Glacier National Park to name a few.

His articles on photography in the park have been published in Nature Photographer magazine and his images have appeared many times on the Shenandoah National Park calendar. Andrew has also been involved locally as the past program director for both the Manassas-Warrenton Camera Club and the Fredericksburg Photography Club. His images have been selected numerous times for the Nature Visions Photo Expo.

Tonight’s presentation will focus on what you need to know to help make your photographic visit to the park a productive and rewarding one. Andrew has visited all 75 overlooks in SNP numerous times throughout the year and will provide detailed information as to which ones are the best photographically and why. He will also discuss all the subjects to photograph in the park (Milky Way, deer and fawns, bears, sunrise and sunset, flowers, waterfalls, macro and fog).  As a side note, Andrew encourages interaction during the presentation and enjoys taking questions and getting involved with the group.

Andrew also has a new e-book titled Shenandoah National Park (available on Amazon) which provides more specific detail on photographing SNP. You can view his images along with further information on his website at www.andrewscamera.com.
