Creative Accountability Buddy
One of the goals of Seminar Night is to foster mentoring and learning from each other. One way to do this is to have a buddy in the club that will encourage you and help you with ideas as you pursue a goal. That person will be your Creative Accountability Buddy.
The process will work like this. You will establish a photographic goal that can be accomplished in 4-6 months. It could be something like learning to use flash as fill light outdoors or publish a photobook illustrating personal poetry. Anything you can think of that’s photographic and achievable will work.
We will draw names at random and pair each other up with club members that would like to participate. You could be paired with a novice photographer or an advance photographer, someone new to the club or an old timer. The variety will make it interesting and ultimately help you as you both work towards completing your individual goals. Your buddy will serve as a sounding board, source of inspiration and most importantly a person to whom you are accountable to show progress each month during Seminar Night. You and your buddy will meet monthly, or more if desired, to show progress, discuss issues, roadblocks and possible solutions.
Going forward, we will devote 20-30 minutes of each Seminar Night towards discussion with your buddy. If your buddy can’t attend the meeting, we will pair you with a temporary buddy or you can discuss your work with others in the group.
