Board Meeting – August 22, 2019

The Board met on August 22, 2019.  Twelve board members and two guests attended.

Committee Chair Reports:

Treasurer –  Bruce Schaefer presented the projected for the upcoming year. The balance forward is $4,761. The projected budget is now projecting a $326 surplus. We have 12 members that have paid to date.  

The George DeBuchanne Community Service Fund has a balance of $593.

The proposal for the liability policy is the same cost and coverage as last year and will be paid when it is completed.

We have not received the audit committee’s report.

Vice President – A better description is needed to help recruit this position.

Other Reports:

Programming – Karen has competed securing speakers for the year and Renee has secured the judges.

Cable Release – The Word Press Editor has been updated and is hard to learn.  Sherm is helping. The SOP has been written. The Handbook is being worked on and the Cable Release is almost ready.

Field Trips – Full program was given to Dennis, but no write ups were provided for the CR.

Website, Meetup, Facebook, Twitter –Up and running.

Nominations and Elections Committee – No report.

Competition – Mark Paster brought up the process for selecting the topics could be improved. We will discuss further a better way of nominating topics.

We would like to provide more information for the printed competitions. A handout will be worked on discussing the how to and where to get this done for newer members.

Membership – No report

PSA – No report

Communication Committee – No update.

Other Topics:

Maryland Photography Alliance –We will participate in the competition. Sherm and Larry will submit their framed winners from last year.

SOP –Each position will write up their Standard Operating Procedures for the position. These will be collected by Catherine and we will house them on a secured section of the website, backed up on flash drives and a copy in Dropbox.

Norm will send Catherine a CSV file of the data for the awarded points and other historical information for the back up as well.

Social –Our welcome back Social will be held on October 3rd – speaker night.
